It has been a while since I last blogged about anything. Usually, at this time of the year, there are all kinds of new things to see and enjoy. This year? Not so much.
Or perhaps it’s just me getting impatient with the weather.
It seems to me that previous years had a spring arriving much earlier than this year. Then I look at last year’s pictures and I see the same drab colours on pictures from the same dates.
Beautiful – in winter
So, it’s probably me after all. But I can’t shake the feeling that last year was warmer on this date than this year. The sun just doesn’t want to come out and warm us up, the trees are still bare or just getting a hint of colour.
Barely visible
And I can’t even be sure I’m not looking at moss instead of new leaves. The picture I take in this period are mostly devoid of colour too. Grey tints are predominant and it seems there is nothing else to find.
Icy surfer
While some people do enjoy this time n the waves, I’m certainly not dipping my feet (or anything else!) in the frigid waters of the Atlantic here.
Clouds in perspective
I have tried to find interesting sites, there are plenty, but with a lighting that is chilling all by itself, I can’t imagine this post to be heart-warming or warming anything else. Photos of lighthouses should be nice and bright, but this year doesn’t seem to cooperate.
Ice-cold beach
Places that should yield great shots are remaining drab and colourless. Ok, the evergreens are still green, but does that even count? The above shot doesn’t even show any background. It was hidden in the mist over the water.
Lonely tree
Some people told me to go on a boat and do some whale watching. I would love to do that, but the whales are more intelligent than that. They don’t come over here in the winter time and if some of them are hardier souls, they certainly don’t show themselves.
On the rocks
So far, it’s rocks and water. I guess that my brain is telling me that I need a vacation in a warm place. Is anyone willing to rent me a place in the Caribbean this year?
Until next time…
