This is the second time (only) that I have written about Winter Wonderland. Some people can’t get enough of the white white world and would like that to continue for as long as possible.
May I suggest moving to the Arctic and leaving some warmer weather for the rest of us?
A few years ago we moved from probably the coldest inhabitable place in Canada to the East Coast. In search of some warmer weather in general. While we didn’t expect tropical weather, a bit warmer temps in the winter would be pleasant.

The first winter, we got 40cm of the white stuff. Not the fluffy stuff from Winnipeg, but the heart-attack snow. It’s worth its weight in water. Shovelling your driveway in Winnipeg is easy. Over here we need the tractors from the neighbours to get the driveway clean.

So this post is about getting rid of this “Winter Wonderland” crap and offer some pictures to warm up by. I am writing this post battling a bug that freezes me to the bone, despite the furnace being at +25C. The pictures are from all over the world, some locations are easier to recognize than others.

The lead picture of this post is already outdated. Rodina Mat or the Motherland statue in Kyiv has been updated since the war began and now sports the Trident of Ukraine as far as I know.
Clandeboye, Manitoba
Storm clouds over the prairies is something that I have missed since I moved away. They come up innocently and suddenly burst into hell and damnation. Or they fizzle out.

What is a little more exceptional is to see a great Aurora light show on a warm night. This picture was taken in Manitoba on May 17. Ok, it was not a summer night, but we could get by wearing t-shirts that night.

And yes, I really could never pass up on a stormy sky. Wide open fields, nothing to stand in the way of your field of view to shoot those stormy clouds.
Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
But then again, when it comes to warm weather, the Caribbean always tops it. Sandy beaches, palm trees, warm water. There’s nothing wrong with that, right?
Anyway, here are some pictures to get you out of that Winter Wonderland misery for a few minutes.
Until next time…
